Our Impact

Our industry activities have a significant influence over the communities in which we operate. We have a responsibility to the existing communities and future generations, to ensure this is a positive influence.

We believe that in order to achieve truly future proofed, sustainable built environments, all buildings must be designed, constructed and operated to deliver key benefits for the wellbeing of our people and our planet.

We're making changes and taking action to build a better Wiggett Group, starting a movement where small actions can make a big impact advancing our purpose and changing lives.

Our Progress

Office

To ensure we are not contributing to deforestation, we have reduced our paper usage in our offices by 80%. Where paper is necessary, we have transitioned to only utilising 100% recycled or FSC certified paper.

Introducing our Wiggett Carpool and Cycle to Work schemes, has not only reduced carbon emissions, but has boosted positive relationships and generated an increase in sustainable living amongst the staff.

We took a hard look at our disposable plastic usage and have implemented permanent changes, resulting in our plastic usage as virtually non existent. Stainless steel water bottles, reusable cutlery and reusable coffee cups are accessible for all staff to utilise.

Operatives

MASCOT manufactures a broad range of high quality workwear and safety footwear. Together with MASCOT, Wiggett Group created a uniform collection for our operatives made of 100% recycled materials

Alongside a number of our wholesalers, we collect waste materials from our industry to ensure they are properly disposed of and recycled where possible.

Our Cherry Picker and Spider Cherry Picker are now 100% electric vehicles, inline with our goals for an all electric fleet.

Carbon Emissions

We are working with a new vehicle tracking company to analyse the journeys taken by our engineers and work to reduce these emissions by taking lower carbon options, carpooling or as a last resort, by offsetting

We aim to have an all-electric fleet by 2030 and are on target to meet this as half our fleet shall be electric by 2023

Local Environment and Community

Through Wiggett Fund, we can work to enact change and we aim to support those who are fighting these causes and making change. We will be setting up an annual volunteering day with a local environmental charity.

Operations

Investing in a few office plants will serve a useful function by absorbing toxins from the air (often emitted by printers).

We aim to install solar panelling to switch to renewable energy, by 2023, further reducing our impact on the earth.
Whether it be ink for the office or materials for the operatives, we aim to work with certified sustainable businesses to develop a sustainable purchasing policy
