Security Engineer

About the Role:
The Wiggett Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Security Engineer to oversee planned works, repairs, maintenance, and reactive works for security systems across our social housing contracts. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our properties by installing, servicing, and maintaining security systems, including intercoms, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems, including intercoms, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in security systems as part of reactive maintenance.
- Respond to emergency call-outs to troubleshoot and repair faulty security equipment.
- Ensure all works comply with current industry regulations and health & safety standards.
- Conduct system testing and commissioning following installation or repairs.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on completed works.
- Work closely with other engineers and site teams to coordinate work schedules effectively.
- Stay updated on new security technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer, with expertise in intercoms, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms.
- Strong background in Fault finding, reactive repairs, and installation.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and health & safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A valid UK driving license
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, FIA, or equivalent certifications in security systems) are desirable.
